Lauren Ramirez (she/they) is a bilingual writer and communications professional based in Anaheim, California, with a background in journalism and a growing passion for education.
Ramirez began her reporting journey as a staff writer and later Editor-in-Chief at the Cypress Chronicle, where she developed foundational skills in news writing, editing, and collaborative storytelling.
After earning an associate of arts in journalism from Cypress College, she transferred to Long Beach State and joined the Daily Forty-Niner (now Long Beach Current) as a staff writer, covering news, opinions, and campus life.
In August 2021, Ramirez was promoted to News Editor, helping oversee city council coverage, breaking news, and local reporting priorities.
In 2022, Ramirez earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and later contributed to the Grunion Gazette as the Kindness Columnist, spotlighting nonprofit organizations across the Long Beach area.
Currently working in education, Ramirez brings her communication strengths into the classroom — supporting student growth, leading writing workshops, and uplifting young voices.
Ramirez remains deeply committed to community-centered work, inclusive storytelling, and public service.
